Prior to co-founding Social Impact Group, Julian began his career with a fast-track decade in financial services, rising to run global marketing campaigns for Schroders and Lloyd’s of London. On becoming self-employed, he spent the 1990s growing a marketing agency from concept to merger and serving corporate clients of every size from start-ups to Motorola and Prudential.
Along the way, Julian has become passionate about Social Enterprise and Corporate Social Responsibility. The tipping point that led to SIG was working for the charity Pecan, to win one of the largest ever BIG Lottery development grants to explore developing a London-based furniture project MORPH, into a national chain. MORPH is a social enterprise that saves bulky waste from landfill and creates work-based training and real jobs for marginalised people, whilst applying retail marketing techniques to promote re-use to the general public and combat poverty head-on.
